Can These 3 Allergy Gadgets Help You?

Natural remedies are great for allergies but allergy gadgets have a place too in dealing with the symptoms of an allergy. Gadgets cannot cure an allergy but they can contribute to reducing the frequently unpleasant symptoms and besides that I just love gadgets.

The H.E.P.A. Filter

Filtering the air you breathe seems an obviously good thing to do. If you can breathe fewer pollen particles or dust mites or pet dander then that may reduce your allergy symptoms without using any drugs or herbs at all. But which filter is the best? The simple answer to that is to sue a “high efficiency particulate air” filter also known as a H.E.P.A. filter.

These can be free standing or built into air filtration or air conditioning units in homes, offices and cars.

Even found in vacuum cleaners the cost of H.E.P.A. filters has come down a lot in recent years and a vacuum cleaner now with a H.E.P.A. filter is hardly more expensive than a normal vacuum. H.E.P.A. filters are great even without an allergy – we do better when breathing clean air

The Juicer

If you are surprised that a kitchen fruit juicer is an allergy gadget then just ponder research findings that link consumption of fruit with reduction of asthma allergy symptoms. Published in 2007 in the U.S. National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health a paper reporting the results of diet and wheezing from asthma. Consumption of what the authors called fruity vegetables reduced asthma symptoms. What are fruity vegetables – these are – tomatoes, eggplants, cucumber, green beans, and zucchini.

Do you need a juicer to do this? No you don’t but it is much easier to get a good intake of fruit and even vegetables by juicing them. It makes getting the right amount of healthy vegetable a day an absolute breeze. And using a juicer is fun anyhow.

The Neti Pot

Well known in the Yoga world the Neti Pot was otherwise ignored. Until that it became a celebrity by appearing on TV. Now there are numerous models of Neti Pot and much endorsement. Simply put, the Neti Pot is an aid to hygiene. It is used to rinse the nasal passages and rinse pollen and other environmental allergens away reducing symptoms of for example hay fever and sinus headaches.

Usually when you buy a Neti Pot you get some salt to use with it. Following the simple instructions you put comfortably warm salty water in the Neti Pot and turning your head to one side simple allow some of the water to flow into one of your nostrils. The water will flow into one nostril and out the other one provided the recommended head position is used.

Many folks get a lot of relief by using it. And for the gadget conscious Neti Pots can be found in many different shapes sizes and materials. You can even get what I call an electric net pot.
