Free Affordable Florida Health Insurance Quote Online

Affordable health insurance is becoming harder and harder to find, but if you are willing to do your homework and comparison-shop you should be able to find something that meets your needs. Getting quotes that compare the different types of insurance is easy when you use an online health insurance website. An insurance quote website will quickly sort through the various companies and policies to give you the lowest quotes possible.

Florida health insurance plans

Before you get quotes on health insurance make sure you know what you are looking for, because there are different types of health care policies

  • A Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) is a group of health care providers who agree to provide care for patients at a flat rate for a period of time. The provider becomes the gatekeeper in keeping costs down and under the flat rate, so that the provider can get a profit while still providing good care. And you the patient get the benefits of a lower premium. HMOs are typically good for health promotion and disease prevention, so if you are a young person or a young family, this may be a good option for you. Often baby checks or yearly physicals are at little or no cost to you. You have little flexibility to see other providers unless your primary provider makes a referral, but these plans can be the least expensive.
  • A Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) is a group of health care providers that contract with the insurance company to provide care at a specific reduced fee. The provider gets the benefit of having a captive patient load, and the patient gets the benefit of lower health care costs. If you need to see a provider who is not in the PPO network, then the cost to you is generally higher. These types of policies have a little more flexibility and will usually cost a little more.
  • A Point of Service (POS) policy assigns you a primary care provider that you can see at a lower cost, and allows you the flexibility to see someone outside the network at a higher price, usually 20% of the bill. These types of policies generally cost more than either an HMO or a PPO. Once you have considered all the various options available in health insurance, do some comparison-shopping. An on-line heath insurance website can provide you with several free quotes to consider. You can find a policy that is a balance of what you want and what you can afford.

Affordable Florida Health Insurance Plans Online

One of the best ways to get affordable health insurance quotes is to go to a free insurance quote website. There you can get competitive price quotes from up to 5 health insurance providers so you can compare plans and prices. After you have your quotes, you can look closely at the policies and decide which one is the best for you.

1. Finding The Right Match

Finding the right place for your medical needs is much like finding the right primary care doctor. Feeling comfortable with your physician is a critical step in choosing the right Maui Urgent Care Center. Before you walk in the door, call and ask if you can speak to an available physician. Ask him or her questions about how they handle medical conditions such as, do they take a more traditional approach, or do they recommend alternative treatment options? Once you feel comfortable with their style of care, you’ll feel more confident that you’re choosing the right medical provider. In addition to the style of care, you should also ask how long your physician has lived in Hawaii. The islands are home to very unique organisms that visitors can find themselves allergic to, including flowers like protea, foods such as poi, and marine life like Potters Angel fish and sea fan coral. These rare flora and fauna only exist here or in just a few remote areas in the world, so visitors are unlikely to have had any previous contact with them. That’s why a local physician who understands what to look for and the right questions to ask is crucial to making the right diagnosis so you can get better faster, and back to enjoying your vacation.

2. Accessibility

Maui, and in particular the east side of the island, has many remote areas that are popular visitor destinations but far from the commercial hubs where most urgent care centers are located. For instance, if you were staying at the Travaasa Hotel in Hana, Maui, and needed to visit your nearest urgent care clinic, you’d have drive 4-5 hours to get there, which would result in you missing an entire day of your vacation in paradise. In many cases finding a Maui-based urgent care center that offers telemedicine visits is the best option for accessing medical care. Having the ability to see your Hawai’i-licensed physician from your computer, tablet, or mobile device can save you time and help you quickly decide whether you need to make a trip into the nearest urgent care center or hospital. In most instances, your doctor can fax or call in a prescription to the nearest pharmacy saving you hours of travel time.

3. Affordability

When searching for the right urgent care center in Maui it’s important to ask about payment and coverage options. Many urgent care centers offer only local insurance including HMA, UHA, HMMA or Kaiser Your Choice coverage that can result in a higher out-of-pocket cost for visitors. Calling and asking about coverage before you show up can save you time and money. No insurance? Don’t worry, most walk-in clinics offer a rate for people without insurance — but you’ll want to know up front what those costs are so you can make the most informed healthcare decision.

4. Ask The Experts

Your hotel or timeshare concierge provides a great place to start your urgent care search. They deal with hundreds of visitors and are very familiar the activities that can result in injuries for the under or unprepared, like ocean dives, surf schools, and day hikes in more rugged areas. Consequently, they have relationships with the closest urgent care centers. As soon as you determine that you need care, make your concierge the first stop on your journey to feeling better.

5. Dig Deeper

Once you have a few walk-in care locations in mind, go online and read about experiences other visitors have had. Check sites like Yelp, Google Places, Facebook and the urgent care centers’ websites for customer testimonials and star ratings. Picking a location that has good reviews and clinic pictures will help reduce your anxiety, make a more informed healthcare decision, and result in a better overall medical care experience.

Lipodissolve, also known as injection lipolysis, is a fat treatment method in which small deposits (usually .25 to .5ccs per injection) of a solution are placed immediately under the skin. (.5cm) When this solution comes into contact with fat, and it has a zone of diffusion of about 1 cm. from the injection site, a ‘fight’ takes place known as inflammation. This inflammatory reaction helps break down the walls of the fat cells allowing their stored fat to be released. While there is some debate as to what actually happens to fat that is released, it appears that it is removed by the bloodstream and carried to the liver where it is broken down and eliminated as waste products.

Most LipoDissolve solutions use a mixture of synthetic emulsifying chemicals which are well tolerated by the body. Lecithin, also known as phosphatidycholine, and cholic acid (bile salt) are always the two main ingredients. Both have emulsifying properties to break down fat cell walls and there is some debate also as to which one is really the most effective at doing so. Since these LipoDissolve solutions are not FDA-approved, they are mixed and distributed by compounding pharmacies. (which are also not FDA regulated) The compounding pharmacy industry is usually unknown to most of the general public and many non-pharmaceutical drugs and compounds used in the wellness, anti-aging, and alternative medicine world are made by them. Some practitioners mix other agents into the LipoDissolve solutions but no clear cut benefits has been proven for these ‘cocktail’-like mixtures. I prefer to stay with more pure compounds that use lecithin and cholic acid only as I have never had a negative reaction in a patient yet.

The key to getting a safe and effective outcome with LipoDissolve is one of limited dosing. Keeping injections for the body to less than 50 (total volume of 25 ccs) and in the neck to less than 15 (7.5cc) produces results that appear to have no side effects other than the temporary swelling which is an expected part of the treatment process. I have treated many neck and jowl areas successfully but will not use it for any other facial areas. The use of LipoDissolve injections into the fat pads of the lower eyelids, for example, seems dangerous and does not produce a near similar result to what is achieved with the far safer and more predictable lower blepharoplasty procedure. Injection into the buccal fat pad can also be done but knowing that you are into the correct area is an impossibility.

Any time you are setting goals to improve your health and wealth, there are five steps that are crucial to your success. People can and do have success without implementing these steps, but I have found that kind of success to be random and sporadic. If you want sustained success and a happier life you must take what has been sporadic and make it systematic.

1. Identify WHAT you want – start with the end in mind and have a very clear picture of what you want. For example, if you want $1 million in net worth that would be the end in mind.

2. Decide WHEN you want it – without a time frame there is no way to tell if you are on track. The time frame has to be realistic. If you want $ 1 million in net worth within one year’s time and you currently have a $50,000 net worth, that may not be realistic.

3. Determine HOW you will accomplish it – every plan needs a strategy and tactics for it’s accomplishment. You must be able to determine through manageable steps whether you are on track or not. If your goal of $ 1 million in net worth is a 10 year goal and in the first three years you increase your net worth to $150,000 is that enough. Based on the HOW is that enough to get you there.

4. Now ask the question, WHY do I want this? – Too often the WHY question is never answered. Without the why, your wealth goal may just be a dream.

5. Do it now! – I am sure you have heard that before, but it bears repeating. Any plan to increase your net worth or improve your health is worthless unless you take immediate action.

Now, once you completed these steps you can repeat them as necessary. Don’t forget to review your overall goal and the steps you have committed to regularly. Then you can monitor your progress and make adjustments to the plan as necessary.

To your health and wealth.

In effort to improve my ability to deliver an amazing product at the Muay Thai gym I own, I felt compelled to travel to the Mecca of Muay Thai, Phuket, Thailand, and learn from the best of the best. This article is part of a series of articles, detailing that endeavor.

Part 3

Coming to Thailand was no easy feat. I am not an experienced traveler, so I experienced many pitfalls in getting here. I am learning as I go, and am confident my next trip will go a lot more smoothly.

I have detailed some of those pitfalls, as well as some early observation of Thailand in past articles. I am now in the ‘holy land of Muay Thai’ Phuket, Thailand. I am exhausted by the rip, and anxious to get right to work, but feel like I need some rest before getting down to business.

I really tried to take a nap when I got checked into my room. The sound of Muay Thai training right outside my door was permeating it’s way into my room. After about 20 minutes of tossing and turning, I decided to go check things out.

My first stop was Dragon Muay Thai, since they were right next door. It was intense. Everyone there seemed to be at a high level, and were training as thought their lives depended on it. I would later learn this was a fighter training session, and was not entirely indicative of their student base. They have beginners as well, but not on this day. There was some pretty hard sparring going on, and some grueling conditioning for those who weren’t sparring.

After watching for a while, I decided to go down and check out the place I had already signed up for, Tiger Muay Thai.

Upon walking in the front office, I was very impressed with how polite and professional their staff was. They were very welcoming, and very detailed providing me with all the information I would need during my stay. I was given a tour of the facility, issued my equipment I had purchased on-line, and given all the paperwork describing all the amenities offered there-And there were many!

They have on-sight dorms, a full kitchen and restaurant, CrossFit-type Fitness classes, Yoga, Boxing, MMA, Jiu Jitsu, and of course Muay Thai. Additionally, they offer courses in Muay Boran, which is Muay Thai, but for street application, rather than sport. They also have traditional Thai stick fighting called Krabi Krabong classes.

There are four separate Muay Thai training areas; 1. Beginners 2. Intermediate 3. Advanced 4. Fighter Training.

One thing I liked was that EVERYONE starts in the beginner section. You advance only when a trainer deems you ready-No matter what your background is. I had no problem drilling basics the first few days, but sparring beginners is like trying to tame a bull. They are nervous to be training Muay Thai in Thailand, and have a hard time controlling their nervous energy.

When formal classes are not going on, the Trainers teach private, one-on-ones, so there is always action going on throughout the complex.

Walking through the different areas really got my blood pumping, and I couldn’t wait to get started. I hadn’t expected to be wanting to train on my first day, so my membership didn’t start until tomorrow. I would have to wait one more day to get underway.

Sixty years after India’s independence, despite a “booming” urban economy, 300 million Indians (roughly the size of the USA) still live in abject poverty and one could argue that the biggest price they pay for being poor is their health. While health services in India are generally designed to be inclusive of all people regardless of caste, gender, geographic location, socio-economic status, or any other basis of exclusion, this doesn’t always hold true in practice.

One area where lack of inclusiveness can have especially dire consequences is that of newborn and child health. The country has the unfortunate distinction of claiming 30 percent of the total neonatal deaths in the world. Every year, 1.2 million of the 27 million babies born in India die within the first month of life, according to the latest National Family Health Survey (NFHS-III).

Part of the problem is limited access to hospital and institutional support. In India, 65 percent of all births occur at home, often without the assistance of a skilled birth practitioner. When something goes wrong, there is no one to help and often no plan to get the woman to the local medical center. In rural areas, women often die because transport is not available.

The Indian government has come up with schemes such as the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and the soon-to-be-launched National Urban Health Mission (NUHM). Both schemes give high priority to the issue of maternal and newborn health for marginalized communities, and seek to improve the availability of and access to quality health care for those at the lowest rung of the socio-economic ladder. Additionally, government programs such as the Janani Suraksha Yojana incentivize delivery in hospitals by encouraging mothers to opt for institutional deliveries.

Unfortunately, in a country of India’s size, many local communities are unaware of these schemes. Those that are aware of the schemes are often confused about the details and how to go about accessing the services. Even more common is the lack of awareness about why these schemes are important in the first place. In many Indian households, where the basic issues of survival take center stage, the health of mothers and their newborns is often sidelined.

Not so in Sabji village in Uttar Pradesh where Ms. Ramvati works. She is a government-sponsored trained Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA). ASHAs are part of an initiative that falls under the NRHM with the aim of bringing communities and health services closer. Ms. Ramvati makes home visits to pregnant women in the village, educating them about safe birthing practices.

She explains that the process of bringing about change has not been easy, but using materials and training provided by a project called Sure Start has eased the way a lot. The project¾a five-year initiative based at PATH, an international not-for-profit organization supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation¾is working with rural communities in Uttar Pradesh and marginalized urban settlements in Maharashtra to help mothers and children survive and stay healthy.

Projects such as these work on the premise of community action and involvement. They work in tandem with the Indian government’s efforts to develop community-level systems for improved services. The goal is to actively engage with the community to bring about change from the inside out.

“Earlier, people were somewhat suspicious and some even forbade me from coming into their houses, but I now receive a lot of respect,” says Ms. Ramvati. “People ask me to sit, offer me tea, and actually listen to what I say.”

Ms. Sudama, a mother of three who is expecting her fourth child, says, “Didi [Ms. Ramvati] comes to our house, and therefore I know how to access a four-wheel vehicle when I need to go to the hospital. I have also kept the telephone number of the doctor handy.” Ms. Sudama’s birth preparation calendar-a gift from Ms. Ramvati-is displayed prominently on her wall.

On another of Ms. Ramvati’s visits, Ms. Sudama was given a tiffin box. While the expectant mother cannot break with the Indian custom of feeding her family first, she now uses the tiffin box to put aside some cooked food for herself and consumes it after everyone else. “I already have …

Are you experiencing some of these symptoms of the 4Ps: Polyphagia (excessive hunger), Polydipsia (excessive thirst), Polyuria (frequent urination) or Pruritis (itching)? Or you easily get sleepy and tired? Or you have some close relatives, your father or mother, an uncle and so forth with diabetes? Well, you should be aware for having diabetes mellitus. However, to establish a sound diagnosis, you need to visit your physician who may as well send you for a blood test to look into your blood sugar levels…

There are several tests that need to be conducted to diagnose whether you have diabetes or not. Those tests include:

#1 – Fasting plasma glucose test (FPGT). This test will measure your blood sugar or glucose levels. You will be asked to fast for a minimum of 8 hours prior to taking your blood sample. This test is usually arranged so you can do the fasting in the evening and your blood sample to be taken in the morning. The result will show whether you have diabetes or in stage of pre-diabetes.

#2 – Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). This test is meant to measure your blood glucose levels in two stages. The first one is similar to the FPGT which is taking your blood sample after a fasting period of a minimum of 8 hours. After your blood take, you will be asked to drink a kind of syrup (sugar diluted in water). The second blood sample will be taken after 2 other hours of your drinking. This test will establish the diagnosis of diabetes or pre-diabetes.

#3 – Random plasma glucose test.Your blood glucose level can also be measured at any time, regardless the time you have been eating your last meal. This test, together with an evaluation of other symptoms, like the above 4Ps, is used to establish the diagnosis of diabetes but not pre-diabetes.

Positive results of those three tests should be confirmed by repeating the fasting plasma glucose test as well as the oral glucose tolerance test on another day.

Fasting Plasma Glucose (FPG) Test

This is the test of choice to diagnose diabetes since it is most convenience and reliable when taken in the morning. Test results can be read as follow:

  • A fasting sugar level of 99 milligrams/dL or below means that your glucose level is normal
  • A fasting sugar level of 100 – 125 milligrams/dL, concludes that you at a stage of pre-diabetes which is also called by impaired fasting glucose (IFG). It means that you are more likely to get type-2 diabetes in the future, but does not appear yet.
  • A sugar level of 126 milligrams/dL and beyond, means that you have diabetes mellitus which however, should then be confirmed by a repeated same test on another day.

Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT)

Research has concluded that the OGTT seems to be more sensitive compared to the FPGT in diagnosing the stage of pre-diabetes. However, it is less convenient to manage. Test results can be read as follow:

  • A blood sugar level after 2 hours of 139 milligrams/dL or below means that your glucose level is normal
  • A blood sugar level between 140 – 199 milligrams/dL 2 hours after drinking the syrup, concludes that you are in a stage of pre-diabetes called impaired glucose tolerance or IGT, which means that you are more likely to develop type-2 diabetes in the future, but it does not appear yet.
  • A 2-hour blood sugar level of higher than 200 milligrams/dL, means that you have diabetes mellitus which however, should then be confirmed by a repeated same test on another day.

To establish the diagnosis of Gestational diabetes, plasma glucose levels measured during the OGTT can be observed. But in this case, blood sugar levels will be checked 4 times during a test with an interval of one hour between two blood takes. If your blood sugar levels are above normal twice at the minimum during the test, you may be considered to have gestational diabetes.

The following scheme is showing the above-normal results for the OGTT for gestational diabetes cases:

  • Fasting – 95 milligrams/dL or beyond
  • After 1 hour – 180 milligrams/dL or beyond
  • After 2 hours

Does ResVer-Xp really work? What is resveratrol anyway….and can it help me look, feel and “be” a younger, healthier and happier version of myself? In this article we are going to take a quick look at Resver-Xp, and see if resveratrol supplements can truly help you live a healthier life, starting today.

First….what exactly is ResVer-Xp?

Good question! It’s a popular supplement that is manufactured by GNS, that offers natural resveratrol in a pill form.

How much resveratrol is in each capsule?

50 mg per serving.

Is that a lot or just a little?

According to the company, this highly concentrated form of resveratrol is the very best way of getting the anti-oxidant into the human body for maximum absorption and benefit.

Isn’t Resveratrol found in red wine? Can’t I just drink more to get similar benefits?

Another good question…and trust me, I’m a BIG fan of red wine, so you wont’ hear me discourage it! But, unfortunately, the amount you would need to drink to get the benefits of a single capsule would be too high. ( some scientists say 500 bottles a day) And moreover, your liver wouldn’t like you too much if you even had 2 bottles of wine a day, or even too many glasses over a prolonged period of time.

Is all of this stuff proven to work? Or are we still in the “speculative” phase?

In my view? Still the speculative phase. While many people swear by resveratrol, and many of the scientists who are developing these products are household names, there still is NOT conclusive proof that anti-oxidants extend healthy life, nor that specific “super” supplements like resveratrol will be the answer. Like anything else though in life, you’ve got to evaluate it all on the basis of the evidence, AND how these supplements make you feel…and finally, are they like little, mini “insurance policies” that we take with the hopes that they WILL be everything they promise! On all of those fronts, in my view, ResVer-Xp fits the bill as a smart investment for sure!

If you’re thinking of buying a home but don’t want to deal with the hassle of maintaining a yard, paying for repairs, shoveling snow, and cutting the grass, you may want to consider buying a Condominium. A condominium is similar to an apartment except for one main difference, instead of paying rent, you own the property. The difference is purely legal, as in, you own the property, and share the common areas with others. Well technically you only own the air space within the boundaries in the property, and can modify the interior to your liking. But it’s still the same as owning your own home, with the added benefits of less maintenance.

What’s the advantages and disadvantages of owning a condominium?

Cheaper – Condos are usually cheaper then a comparable stand alone single family property. If you wanted a 2,000 square foot home, you would most likely pay 20-30% less if you bought a condo. Disadvantage? Well, your neighbors are usually really close, like as in, a walls thickness away. Depending on how well built the condo is, this may or may not effect you. Some condos you may hear your neighbors, others are built sound proof, and having close neighbors won’t effect your noise level at all.

Less Maintenance – The best advantage of owning a condo is having a almost maintenance free property. Most condos are maintained on the outside, which means no more shoveling snow, mowing the lawns, and repairing things like siding or shingles. Disadvantage? There is usually a Homeowners Association fee (HOA) that you are required to pay. Most HOA fees are reasonable, and are there to keep your property managers paid to keep the maintenance activities well maintained. These fees can be anywhere from $50 to a couple hundred dollars a month. It all depends on what has to be maintained.

Common Areas – Most condominiums come with the added benefit of swimming pools, tennis courts, a small park, kids playground, workout centers, or many other amenities. The cost to maintain these amenities yourself could be enormous, but they are usually included in your HOA fees. Disadvantage? I can’t think of many, other then the HOA fee, who doesn’t like a pool? This is probably one of the major benefits of living in a condominium, the cost of owning one of these amenities in a stand alone environment can be costly to say the least.

Safer – There are a lot of condo complexes that have gated communities, or other security measures to keep you safe. In larger cities, you may have to push a button to be let into the complex, this is a great way to be safe. You also have a lot more neighbors that are closer, and will be more adept to watching the premise, which is good if you are going on vacation.

Disadvantages There are disadvantages to owning a condo, one of which is the proximity of your neighbors. Most condos are built with a common wall, which means you will be sharing at least one wall with a neighbor, if not more, and this could prove to a be a noisy environment. Another disadvantage would be parking, most condos come with limited parking as you have to share the space with your neighbors. You may also not be able to park close to roads, or on roads, which increases the limits involved with parking.

There are many advantages and disadvantage to owning owning a condominium, and only you can decide if buying a condo is right for you. After reading this article, you should have a better understanding of both sides, and I hope you can make a more informed decision as to what is going to work for you.
