Tantalizing pieces of information about body-types have been channeled over the last 20 years.

The four topics we will discuss are: what defines each body type, what foods work best with each of them, what is the best way to use exercise or other healing techniques for each body type, and some hyperlinks to pictures of people that present good examples of what each of the body types looks like for your comparison to your own.

First, let us provide some general information on body types. Body types are based on the astronomical bodies in our local solar system, starting with the Sun, then the Moon, then Mercury and so on all the way out to Saturn. The other planets, Uranus and Neptune and the planetoid Pluto only provide influences on the main body types. Newly discovered planetoids near Pluto will probably eventually be seen to have body type influences as well, but that is a topic for future channeling. For now, since any planetary body further away than Saturn has only a small influence on a minority of people we will concentrate on the main body types.

Most people have two body types in combination, meaning their body reflects the characteristics of two distinct planets; for instance, Solar and Mercurial, or Martial and Jovian. You will have to decide, unless you get some channeling on it, which two planets influence you and which of those two is dominant. It usually only takes a few minutes reflection after you have read all of this material and processed it. We have included some links to pictures of some classic examples of each type to help you along.

There are a few people who show only one body type and a few people who actually show three main body types. If you have only one body type, it will be to facilitate a life task or karma. If you have three, one of them will be a small influence, generally 10% or less.

There are seven main body types. Less than 10% of the population is influenced by one of the three outer planets. We have listed them because they help explain the appearance and characteristics of some people even more precisely. An example would be the famous Russian monk, Rasputin. His Plutonian influence was revealed by his mesmerizing eyes, high forehead, and the fact that, while controversial, he still maintained a loyal following. We will discuss each body type and influence thoroughly using examples to eliminate confusion.

There are some very practical reasons to understand body types. Each works best with a diet that suits it well. That can be easily seen in a large household. You may have some Martial types that adore protein mixed in with Saturnian types that love a broad based organic diet and a Venusian that just loves sweets. That makes for interesting dinner planning. Most families compromise as they go along but understanding the unique needs of all parties simplifies matters.

Have you ever noticed that people seem to fall into patterns that work for them? Some people just need to shun meat, often preferring a vegan diet. When they eat meat, it seems to make them ill. Special congrats to my friends, Steve and Ross. Although they were overweight at the time, I helped them train for four months and they successfully passed all the needed military requirements. Four months ago I began babysitting my granddaughter three days a week while her parents headed to work. Both physical therapists, my daughter and son-in-law have great jobs, ones for which they are well trained and that they enjoy. Fortunately, as a retiree though also a volunteer to vast entities, I knew I could scramble up the free time to accept this wonderful prospect: bonding with my little sweetheart.

I am willing to sacrifice many items when it comes to helping others, but exercise is not one of them. Yes, I would probably give it up a little if I could not otherwise care for my granddaughter, but… Having started running in college, 45 years later it is a vital part of life, along with swimming, walking, and gardening. Oh, yes, there is all of the other “stuff” I do as well like playing the piano and writing, but a day without exercise is stifling, non-productive, and exhausting. So right before I began my babysitting stint I checked out the local running trails and paths and was pleased to find a terrific variety just steps from the kids’ front door. However, knowing that during the winter roads might be slick and that darkness might force cancellation, I headed toward a local fitness club to check out the facilities.

Friendly staff immediately led me on an extensive tour of the fitness equipment, swimming pools, and other predominant features of the gym and then they handed me a list of classes also available. I scanned the list when my eyes lit on “Yoga”. Two of my sisters swear by their yoga sessions, always encouraging me to give it a whirl. But time and other obligations have prevented me taking them up on this idea. Until now, that is. Opportunity and timing are in synch and so mornings include rigorous activity and also a smattering of yoga.

My first day in yoga class I was completely lost. I didn’t know a thing about mats and blocks let alone any of the movements or their names. Luckily, a gentleman led me to the equipment area and made recommendations. I then proceeded with my bundle to a dark, unobtrusive corner of the room, hoping to become invisible as I learned the ropes of my new endeavor. Knowing that I had to leave class a little early so that I could be home to assume Grandma duties, I did not want to interrupt, if possible, during my exit. Soon our instructor strode into the room, greeting familiar faces and smiling at the newbie. Following the rest of the class, I folded myself into sitting position and then mimicked the group as we moved through a number of positions. I found it very interesting and I was also shocked to realize how stiff and rigid some parts of my body had become. But I survived, and returned the next morning.

Yoga is slow, sustained movement with lots of stretching and repositioning back and arms and legs and necks and every other vital body part. The biggest problem I encountered was the slow part. After all, I am a runner and a swimmer. Can you fathom what it is like to move in a sloth-like format for 60 minutes? You who are of the pent-up energy type will understand my frustration and edginess. But I was committed to improving posture and flexibility and so I returned week after week, glimpsing progress with each session. I was moving better. However, I would not say that I was happy or content. Just dedicated.

And then the day finally arrived. It was a week when I had been able to attend four sessions and by the third day I was getting into the groove. Our class of 30-35 was only about 15 that day so our instructor had us get belts to hook onto the wall, then wrap the belt around our waists. Next we slung one leg over the belt and twisted forward, securely held and thus prevented from unwanted face-plants, we began to glide. We swept up with hands waving above our heads then swooshed downward with fingers touching our toes. Up and down and up and down …

Some are born with an inbuilt knowledge of what one’s body needs. Others are easily misguided and led by fashion, popularity, and peer pressure into things that should be avoided. There is also the bodies willingness or otherwise to partake of harmful substances. In my case my body could not tolerate chemicals or anything that affected the brain. This was guided by my keen desire for knowledge and making my intelligence number one.

The lessons learned are that what we do when we are young has an impact on aging and on what diseases and handicaps we will face as the years pile up. Good body maintenance is about avoiding anything toxic and that includes even dangerous rides at carnivals.

The latest fad is to take rides on vehicles that cause a drop and sudden stop, as in some crazy fairground roller coaster adventures. Watching one of these recently it was hard for me to believe that people not only put their own bodies at risk but that of their children in the name of having fun. The human brain is soft and very easily damaged.

The body warns of impending danger through the adrenalin glands and the sensation that many find addictive. As adrenalin flows it increases the heart rate and provides us with a flight or fight experience. In other words, it prepares for recovery from harm.

As the body jerks into a sudden stop the cranium and brain collide. This causes a degree of bruising and can even result in death or paralysis. But that doesn’t have to happen immediately as delayed response may see the effects of concussion several hours or even a day after the event.

Headaches; nausea; dizziness; memory problems; irritability; as well as balance and sleeping difficulties may follow. Look at these symptoms and compare them to those of Alzheimer’s or dementia patients. With the latter there are huge changes in brain functions that include memory loss.While there is no proven correlation to support the linking of the two it doesn’t mean it is not correct.

Drugs also affect the brain and taking pills on a regular basis may also be leading to the onset of Alzheimer’s or dementia. While there are no studies to prove this is the case it’s still a matter of common sense.

If one is looking for a fitness regime then start with the brain and all other things will surely follow. It has the ability to tell us when we are going wrong. Drugs, on the other hand, interfere with that side of nature. We educate the brain by what we do to our bodies. If we stuff ourselves with things like sweets and alcohol, and tell it that the odd adrenalin rush is OK, then changes in that vital organ will impel us to take more of it.

Body hate is a nasty consequence of rising popularity of a fitness lifestyle. As much as fitness is about changing our body in positive ways via exercise and diet, it rarely involves exercising our mind to treat our body right. Even the whole idea of going to the gym often begins with a thought that there is something wrong with our body.

We compare ourselves to others on social media and get mad at our own reflection. We are focusing on our flaws much more than we tend to celebrate the things we like about ourselves. That detachment from our body, as if it weren’t a part of us, makes it so easy to resent it.

Body hate is detrimental, because it leads to destruction. Some people try to eliminate the source of the problem by diving into a rigid diet and exercise regime only to find themselves exhausted and unable to maintain such regime soon. Others avoid the problem, suppressing the body hate and pretending it does not exist until it erupts. Finally, there are some people who give in and do even more of what causes self-hate.

Suppressing, avoiding, or exacerbating, we all are dealing with our body hate in many unhealthy ways. To start making peace with our body requires these seven mindset characteristics that can be trained.

1. Minimized comparison mindset:

My friend once told me how she compares herself to a Brazilian fitness model on Instagram. She thinks that the model’s body type is attractive to the kind of males my friend finds desirable. In other words, she tries to satisfy the imaginary tastes of an imaginary perfect male character!

As one of the basic decision-making mechanisms, comparison is natural for our brain. When it comes to our body, however, we mostly engage in unfavorable comparison. Moreover, a snapshot in the moment, comparison often omits the differences in time and resources that other person invested in getting a “better body”.

While impossible to eliminate comparison altogether, minimizing the exposure to comparison triggers, like social media, can certainly help. Also, intentionally practicing a positive comparison, by verbalizing what your body is better at, can help rewiring your brain to think differently.

2. Owner’s mindset:

Your body is yours. This obvious statement is often under-appreciated. But think of the times you deemed something being better just because it belonged to you. Your childhood blanket, no matter how old, was the best because it was yours. Your toys had more superpowers because they were yours. Even your puppy that just pooped on the floor and tore a corner of the sofa is still the most amazing creature in the world. And any other cutest puppy on Instagram will not replace your own. So why is your body different?

Get into a habit of giving a positive praise to your body. Instead of focusing on the success of the outcome, appreciate the hard work you body does in the process. Instead of punishing the wrong things, reinforce the right right ones.

3. Guardian mindset:

We tend to value something that is scarce, came to us at a price, or was entrusted to us to protect. Our body is scarce: we only have 28,000 days in our life with almost a third spent asleep. Our body comes to us at price: from clothes to medical bills, our body is one of the most significant investments we make. Finally, no one can take better care of your body than you. You are pretty much all that your body has. Be a good guardian of its value!

To cultivate a guardian mindset, it helps to constantly realize the importance of what you are protecting. Spoil yourself sometimes! Whether it is a spa visit, an expensive fitness club membership, or good skincare products – you are putting money into your self. You better not mess it up!

4. Partner mindset:

The strength of any partnership is tested in an adversity. Rich or poor, in good health or in sickness, new husband and wife promise to stay with each other. One of the craziest things about the fitness industry these days is how everything is geared to make exercise easier, instead of helping you to get in shape.

A while back I took a looksy in this new mega fitness club that had just opened, and when I walked onto the main exercise floor I thought I had accidentally stumbled into the testing facility for The Kennedy Space Center.

I had never seen so many machines and widgets in my entire life that would supposedly help me gain muscle and burn fat.

They had cardio equipment that allowed you to surf the web while you were on it, and workout machines that even kept track of your weight and reps for you…no lie.

Most of the equipment required you to sit down to use it, and each machine had multiple seat and lever adjustments, as well as a giant plastic sign with full instructions written on it.

I jumped on a few of the different pieces and banged out a couple sets each for about 15 minutes, but quickly grew bored with the limitations that they placed on me.

The problem with these gizmos is that they all isolated different bodyparts; one machine was for my biceps, another for core exercise, another for my pecs, and so on.

If all I had cared about doing was pumping up different bodyparts for purely cosmetic enhancement, I guess the machines would have been fine.

But I believe that this is one of the major setbacks for most of the people that workout in a regular health club.

You are being led like rats on a wheel, being told that this is how you should train, that machines are “safer” than free weights and just as effective.

You move from machine to machine, pumping up each bodypart individually, and then go run on a treadmill or an elliptical for an hour.

The problem here, boys and girls, is that none of this type of training is actually preparing you for real life, day-to-day activities.

It’s building “fake” muscles…toned, yeah, but unprepared for real athletic endeavors and leaving you prone to injury.

Think about this.

Most activities happen to you while you’re on your feet, and usually involve multiple muscle groups working simultaneously whilst doing things like bending, turning, twisting, running, etc.

For example, I’m thinking back to the day after Halloween last year, when I had to pick up and put away eight storage bins full of decorations weighing about 60-80 pounds each.

Let me tell you, no amount of measly isolation exercises on a machine would have prepared me for the amount of effort involved, or the stress on my back.

I had to not only hoist these up from the floor to shoulder level, I also had to press them above my head and twist my whole body 90 degrees to get each bin into its proper cubicle in my garage.

Whereas isolation training works individual bodyparts instead of preparing the body to work as a unit, most people who would have found themselves in my situation would have ended up with a tweaked back as a result of their inadequate training regimen.

So what’s the answer?

You need to train differently.

The type of training that will benefit you the most are exercises that require you to balance and coordinate, as well as challenging your strength, speed, flexibility and stamina.

You need to forget about what’s trendy and instead focus on what works.

You need to start training like a warrior, because every day, in a way, you ARE going into battle.

That battle consists of the strain being caused to your back and neck from sitting at a desk looking at a computer and watching reality shows and sports and DVD’s for long hours.

It consists of long commutes to work, and traffic jams and heavy traffic, all sapping your energy and making your muscles weak from disuse.

And lastly, there’s the stress of trying to be a great parent, boss, employee, son, daughter, and friend, all at the same time, every day.
