Literally thousands of personal trainers graduate from various fitness courses around the world every week. A fact that your qualification providers probably don't tell you is the average trainer delivers less than 10 hours per week of training. I know it's not your goal to be an 'average trainer' and make average income so follow the 5 guidelines below to set yourself apart in a crowded fitness market.

1. Walk the Talk:

  • You don't need to be s super athlete, but you certainly need to practice what you preach as a top trainer. I have seen some trainers who do not have the greatest skin folds or BMI results still be fantastically successful trainers. If you operate in the fitness model / body building niche no doubt about it, you will need to be ripped. If you work with general population, just live a balanced and healthy lifestyle while remaining genuine. Don't pretend to be something you aren't.

2. Great communication:

  • The best trainers are the best communicators. If you are the type of person who is all about 'me, me me' and enjoys telling stories about yourself non-stop, you're going to come across as a complete douche bag. When talking about your experiences to people always relate it back to your members goals and dreams. Become a great listener who is extremely receptive to what your member is saying. Communicate with your members on a regular basis in person, via email and text.

3. Understanding client emotions / motivational drivers:

  • I cringe when I see a trainer go up to a member and proceed to tell them what they are doing is wrong and this is the way to fix it. Even if a person is doing something wrong, the way to get that message across is as a piece of advice that will add to their fitness knowledge. You need to ensure that you do not make any person feel like a fool. A good way to approach a person would be to say 'hey I really love how hard you are working at the moment, do you mind if I show you another way to get you to your goals'. This approach puts you on the front foot with that person.
  • Once you've made contact with a person, your initial goal is to understand that person's deep-seated motivational drivers and what makes them want to train. This is what you will use to tap into their reasons to train and the solution that you can provide for them.

4. Investing in yourself & diversify your offering:

  • It's nearly impossible to be an expert in every aspect of health and fitness. You do need to specialize to a degree. What you want to ensure is that you are not a one trick pony. This really minimizes that amount of people you are able to offer your services to. At the very least you should be very good at one aspect of fitness and have a sound knowledge of nutrition principles. You don't need to be a nutrition expert but you do need to understand the fundamentals.
  • Constantly look to improve yourself as a trainer and add to your basket of knowledge. This does not have to be through formal courses but can be through watching other trainers, participating in other fitness programs and reading literature.

5. Be Well organized

  • If you are well organized, you present a professional demeanor and it shows in everything you do. A well organized trainer has a fresh smell, tidy clothing, prepared sessions and good documentation. If you document what your boot camp or PT clients are doing. They will love the fact you are taking note of their progress. Always make this information available to your people.

As you can see there is more to people a good trainer than just turning up and providing great training. Great training and motivation is a given and a must. It is the little 1% ers that will make you stand out from all those other trainers out there.

A breathalyzer is an accurate scientific device that determines the level of alcohol in the person’s body through breathing. Breathalyzer is the device used by policemen to check drunk drivers. Because of its accuracy, it has been used as evidence in the court. Policemen and other law enforcements should be well- trained and capable in handling this device, and the device itself should be well- maintained to avoid inaccurate results. It is possible to have a personal breathalyzer to know if you can drive. Keychain breathalyzer can be very useful while you are out there partying.

Breathalyzer is a sensitive device and external and internal factors can easily affect the results. Policemen should be aware of the common sources of errors in breathalyzer to avoid conflicts. They should know the factors affecting it and how to eliminate these factors.

Here are some common sources of errors in using the breathalyzer.

Any device that has internal settings should be regularly calibrated. This means that the breathalyzer’s internal settings should be adjusted to a known alcohol standard. Breathalyzers have semiconductor sensors that are easily contaminated with other substances. It is required that every six months, these sensors should be calibrated or replaced. Breathalyzers that have platinum fuel cell sensors are calibrated once a year.

Other Compounds

It has been found out that acetone level is identified as an ethyl alcohol by some breathalyzers. People with diabetes have a very high acetone level in their body and because of this the device rates them with high alcohol content. Breathalyzers with fuel cell sensors can now identify acetone and eliminate it in its reading. Other compounds that can interfere in blood alcohol content in breathalyzers are paint remover, lacquer, gasoline, celluloid, methyl tert-butyl ether and cleaning substances with alcohol, ethers and other volatile compounds.

Mouth Alcohol

It is typical that when you burped or vomited, there is an alcohol released in your mouth. Some breathalyzers can read it as if you have drunk alcohol. The device would assume that the alcohol is from the alveolar air. Even if how less the alcohol content in the mouth is, the breathalyzer will still read it generally. There are times your body releases alcohol like when you are burping, vomiting, regurgitating and eructating. Even kissing a person who drank alcohol can cause to a false reading.

Absorptive Phase

Peak absorption of alcohol happens within the first hour. Generally, alcohol absorption happens after 20 minutes to two and a half hours from the last consumption. During the first stage in absorptive phase, the alcohol is not distributed in the body equally. Equal distribution when absorptive phase is complete. Hence, one part of the body has higher alcohol content and the other parts have less.

One common source of error in breathalyzers is caused by the electric interference form cell phones and police radios. It is advisable to turn of these gadgets when doing the test.

These common sources of errors in breathalyzers can easily be avoided as long as the personnel who are administering the test are aware of the factors. Since breathalyzers are trusted by courts, tests should be done appropriately and accurately.

Breastfeeding is without doubt the best way to give your baby everything he needs nutritionally. It is recognised by The World Health Organisation as being the best way for mums to feed their baby. Despite this, establishing breastfeeding can be difficult and as mothers face many hurdles, they give up on breastfeeding all too soon and instead choose to feed their baby with formula.

One of the most common discomforts when trying to feed your baby from the breast is sore and cracked nipples. There are several ways you can over come this. The simplest way is to apply some of your own breast milk to your nipples, rubbing a little breast milk on to your nipples and letting it air dry is known to alleviate how sore they are. There are also many creams from brands such as Lasinoh that can help repair cracked nipples fast or you could try a natural remedy such as Chamilosan, a chamomile based cream that also helps soothe nappy rash. You may also want to use a nipple shield. These soft shields will still allow your baby to suckle, but they will prevent damage by acting as a barrier between you and your baby. You may also want to consider wearing breast pads that contain aloe vera, as aloe vera is known to soothe cuts and sores.

The most common cause of cracked or bleeding nipples is a poor latch. Ask your midwife, health visitor, a lactation consultant or family member to help you secure a better latch.

Another common breastfeeding discomfort is engorged breasts. Engorged breasts can often feel hot, hard and uncomfortable. The best way to alleviate this is by letting your baby feedas much as they need to, this will reduce engorgement and your breasts will eventually produce milk to meet your baby’s needs. If you find that feeding your baby on demand is not enough to alleviate this problem, use a manual or electric breast pump to assist.

There are many ways you can make breast feeding easier, one of them being co-sleeping. When done safely, co-sleeping does not increase the risk of SIDS and makes feeding your baby a more pleasant and successful experience. You must ensure that neither you or your partner smoke, drink or use recreational drugs. It is also important to ensure that neither of you take medication that makes you drowsy and that you are not extremely tired. Co-sleeping allows you to access your baby easily during the night and many women find that their baby will latch on by themselves, reducing disturbed sleep for both mum and baby. If you are not completely comfortable with the idea of having your baby in bed with you, try a bedside cot. Bedside cots pull up next to your bed and attach, they have a rail that drops down beneath the cot, making the bed act as an extension to your bed.

For further information about successful breastfeeding, speak to your midwife, health visitor, a lactation consultant or a La Leche League representative.

It’s amazing to me how far we’ve drifted away from common sense and reality, especially about out health. The more intelligent we’re supposed to be, the less we appear to know. Wellness and health need to be our intention and our priority, as we are unable to do anything whatsoever, if we’re sick.

We’re smart! Some of us are clever! But (in today’s world) how many of us are actually wise? Again, put this in the category of wellness and health, where the mind, body, and spirit need to be fine tuned and working in conjunction. According to the dictionary: 1) SMART: is mental alertness, calculations, resourcefulness, quickness and ease in learning 2) CLEVER: is cagey, showing self-interest in dealing with others, and 3) WISDOM: is accumulated knowledge or enlightenment; the trait of utilizing knowledge and experience with common sense and insight and the quality of being prudent and sensible. According to the wise elders I grew up around, ‘To be smart, without wisdom was a ‘game for fools’

Last year sometime (I think), Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart did ‘A Rally to Restore Sanity’ where over 250,000 people attended in Washington, D.C. Stephen Colbert was his ‘nemesis’ with the Fear factor. The same sanity/fear dichotomy happens BIG TIME in the world of health; almost bigger than anything else I can think of. The American health nightmare is one the grandest fear stories ever told. In one respect, it’s scarier than the actual story; in another respect, it’s not scary at all. That’s the dual nature of our Universal forces.

So, let’s be clear…when I see headlines like ‘Can Herbs Prolong Our Lives’ or ‘Is Vitamin C Really Good For You’, I’m shocked and appalled at how little most of us know about earth, nature, our own bodies, and how (all things whole, or not whole) relate to being healthy or sick. Explaining this in simple language could really make this a very long article; however, I’ll make every attempt at being brief, without sacrificing too much of the substance.

‘Everything We Need Is Already Here & Always Has Been’ means that the Omnipotent Mind Force, our Spiritual Universe that provides the Stars, the Moon, the Sun and the Planets, also provides everything we need for perfect health. The Stars, the Moon and the Sun are not man made. The same Spirit that manages the Universe (perfectly and without fail) supplied all aspects needed to maintain ‘vibrant health’.

Our perfectly controlled Universe has all the necessary elements needed to keep us healthy and free of disease from the beginning of time

If that didn’t sink in, read it over and over until you really GET IT.

In other words, you can be free and healthy of disease everyday, all your life, and everything you need to make that happen, has already been here, since DAY 1, and this doesn’t mean PROZAC and ADVAIR!

Most ancient people were very well aware of this. However, when contemporary thoughts started to rise to the surface, and someone asked, ‘How Do We Make More Money Doing This?’ Credibility, saneness, and truth flew out the window faster than a speeding bullet.

Thus, a new Health Story was born. Everything that the ancient Egyptians, Asians, Africans, and native Americans knew about wellness and REAL HEALTH was squashed and the Fairy Tale began. The voices of those early, true health professionals and practitioners, were silenced. The more they explained that great health was simply…excellent nutrition, pure water, pure protein, fruits, vegetables, herbs, and some

  • amino acids, along with some moderate exercise,
  • the more ‘processed sugar’ was introduced into the diet,
  • the more advanced terminology was used to make simple explanations appear confusing,
  • the more drugs were introduced, and
  • the more agencies and clubs were formed to carry on the Fairy Tale about your health.

All of this is done with the specific purpose of making SICK CARE more expensive, and to keep YOU running back and forth through a revolving door of non-stop SICK CARE. Do we need contemporary medical care? Of course, we do. Just not AS MUCH & HOW we’re using it now. It has …

So, what’s the deal with the crème craze? Today we have crèmes for every part of the body but are they really necessary? If they are necessary, why and what kind of crème should be used when there are so many options? How about a crème for the penis? Well, while the penis can indeed lubricate itself, things like sex, exercise, body washes and detergents, and environmental factors can wreak havoc on delicate penile skin stripping it of its natural moisture and even cause rashes and irritation. Penis health(PH) crèmes can help restore balance to the skin as well as offering additional benefits. Based on internet research, here is a list of five questions men commonly have about PH crème and their answers.

#1: Is There Really a Difference between Normal Lotion and Penis Health(PH) Cremes?

Surprisingly, there is! Just like a person shouldn’t use the same lotion on their legs as they do their eyes, penises are no different! The penis is sheathed in thin, delicate skin which gives it its sensitivity. When it’s coated in too-thick lotions, overly aggressive lotions with acids (even fruit acids), or too much perfume or other additives and irritants, the skin can breakout, swell, or get a rash. Some lotions also have ingredients that end up drying out the penile skin.

PH cremes use specific formulas to treat penis-specific concerns and take the delicate penile skin into account.

#2: What are the Benefits of Using Penis Health(PH) Creme?

PH Crèmes have helped men fend off infection, regain suppleness, and lock-in moisture which prevents itching and dry, peeling skin. Penis crèmes, if they contain ingredients like vitamin C and L-Arginine, have also been shown to boost blood flow resulting in stronger erections. If a PH crème contains vitamin A, it has been shown to not only keep skin bacteria-free but also blemish-free as well.

#3: Do Penis Health Crèmes Protect Against Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s)?

There are only two things that protect against STI’s, abstinence and using condoms during sex. They also do not protect against pregnancy.

With regular use, they can protect against things like balanitis, acne, nerve damage, chafing, dry skin, peeling skin and more. It completely depends on the penis crème and its formulation.

#4: Can a Penis Health Crème Help Restore Penile Sensitivity?

As men age, they often find that they aren’t as sensitive as they once were. This also tends to happen to men who have been a little overaggressive with frequency of masturbation or sex, have rough sex, or apply a lot of compression, known as “death grip,” to their penis.

A PH crème can help with this issue if it contains an amino acid called L-Carnitine. This nutrient helps protect against penis problems like friction, compression, and peripheral nerve damage which can rob a penis of its sensitivity.

#5: Which Penis Health Crème Should Men Use?

Economical and effective, this PH creme (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which has been clinically proven safe and mild for skin) has been a winner for tons of men. It includes all the nutrients needed for soothing, healing, and rejuvenating the member. It includes all the essential nutrients listed above in addition to vitamins B5 and D3 for healthy cellular function and maintaining health penile tissue which is essential to strong, sustained erections. It also contains Alpha Lipoic Acid to prevent premature aging and thinning of the penile skin. Finally, an all-natural base of Shea butter with a kick of vitamin E provides a healthy, irritant-free experience which locks in moisture, keeping the member soft and supple.

Off-gassing has been floating around online as something we should fear from our carpeting. But first, what is off-gassing anyway? Off-gassing refers to possible volatile organic compounds or VOCs and chemicals being emitted from new furniture or similar household materials. Some people confuse that new carpet smell with the off-gassing of VOCs. But, let’s take a look at the facts.

If one looks up the term “off-gassing,” they will likely be met with scary headlines that claim household materials can cause serious health issues. These are some frightening claims, but as many of us would like to install new beautiful carpeting in our homes, it’s important to get at the truth and take some time to address these concerns.

First, it is said that carpet is one of the lowest emitters of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) among household furnishings and building materials. And, carpeting sold at trusted flooring companies goes through extensive indoor air quality tests before it even reaches the stores. An easy way to find out the level of standards for a particular carpet is by looking for a green label. ‘ Green Label,’ from the Carpet and Rug Institute, ensures that customers are purchasing the lowest emitting carpet, adhesive and cushion products on the market.

All-in-all, new carpet smell does not equal leaking chemicals. And, claims that formaldehyde is being emitted by off-gassing, another thing one might find online, is simply untrue. Formaldehyde is not a concern as it is no longer used in the manufacturing process in the United States. In fact, scientific studies now show that carpet is one of the lowest emitters of volatile organic compounds (VOCS) into the indoor environment. And, carpet has recently been proven to emit less VOCs than other household interior products like wall paint.

Although some love that new carpet smell, it may not be everyone’s favorite aroma. If this is the case, it is a good idea to open the windows after a carpet installation to allow the room to air out for a while. What VOCs new carpet may emit are short-lived and largely dissipate within 24 to 48 hours. And, this occurs even faster with fresh air ventilation.

The best way to find out about the safety of carpeting for the home is by speaking to carpet professionals and by asking questions. Flooring and carpeting professionals are well-versed in all things carpeting and will be able to address your concerns. They should be able to show you proof that the carpeting you’ve chosen has been given the Green Label and has gone through the proper testing.
