The medical care industry is continuously growing and there’s no sign of it slowing down soon. The growth can also be seen on the allied health care services closely tied up to medicine.

The reason for this growth is the continued demand for medical care. It was further fueled in the past decade by the fact that the world population is aging and is therefore requiring more health care services.

Based on this knowledge we can easily see that one of the best industries to start a career is in medical care. With its continued growth this industry promises a stable career as well as possible fulfillment knowing that if you are a professional in this field, you are helping directly in making people’s lives better.

However, it’s not a secret as well that the traditional ways of obtaining a job in the medical industry isn’t easy nor expensive. It takes years and a lot of money to study for a health care career especially if you are working on the clinical side.

The good news is that there’s another side to the medical industry where accountants, programmers, encoders, and people from other professions can go into. That is the administrative side of the medical care industry.

Though the clinical side of health care is the hearth of this industry, allied services are also required to keep the medical care system working. Accountants, marketers, purchasers, stock room custodians, computer programmers, encoders, transcribers, and back office staff are also needed in the administrative side of the health care system.

So if you are thinking of starting a career in the medical care system but you don’t have the money to invest for a profession in the clinical side of things, you can study for one of the allied health care services. One of the fields you can go into is medical billing and coding.

Medical billing and coding is the part of the administrative side of medical care that deals with the revenue cycle. Medical billers and coders are the people that process the health insurance information of patients, the services rendered to patients and finally make sure that claims for services rendered to insured patients are submitted and settlements are received.

Though working on the administrative side of health care that particularly deals with the health insurance system, the medical billers and coders are still adept in the theoretical knowledge of medicine. Medical billers and coders won’t be able to directly provide any form of medical care to patients and are not licensed to do so but they have working knowledge of the entire body anatomy and of the diseases that affects the body. They are also adept in medical terminologies.

The working knowledge of medical billers and coders in medicine is a must. They are interacting with physicians and medical care workers so it’s a requirement that they know how the theories of medicine.

So the best way to become a medical biller and coder if you are interested in becoming one is to have professional training and learn all of the following critical knowledge required from all medical billers and coders:

1. Human anatomy, physiology and diseases

2. Medical language and terminology

3. Health insurance and reimbursement process

4. CPT and ICD-9-CM medical coding databases

These are the subjects that you must learn and master if you want to get into the health care industry by becoming a medical biller and coder. Though it will still take time to study these subjects it won’t be as hard and as expensive as studying for a career directly involved in the clinical side of medical care. Good luck!

Guys like to be able to show off an unblemished manhood, but that’s not always possible. Sometimes they inspect their members and find penis bumps which they hadn’t seen before, and this can raise questions. Is his penis health sub-par? What is causing these penis bumps? Knowing about penis bumps can help a guy know what to do – so this quiz can help test a man’s knowledge about this subject.

Quiz questions

1) True or False: If a guy has penis bumps, he has a social disease.

2) Which of the following is NOT true about Fordyce Spots?

a. They are small (1-3 mm usually).

b. They are dangerously malignant.

c. They are common.

d. They are visible sebaceous glands.

3) True or False: Fordyce spots are more readily visible on a tumescent member than on a flaccid one.

4) These penis bumps typically appear around the ridge of the head of the member, usually in one or two rows. They are small, raised and may be reddish, whitish or flesh-colored. Although their appearance may cause alarm, they are harmless and don’t need treatment. Some studies suggest about 25% of men have them, and intact men are more likely to possess these bumps. Their scientific name is hirsuties coronae glandis. What are they more commonly known as?

5) True or False. Lymphoceles may appear after partner-based sensual activity, but not after self-stimulation.

6) True or false. Penis warts are a form of cancer.

Quiz answers

1) False. In some cases, penis bumps MAY indicate an STI, such as herpes or HPV. But there are many non-social disease causes of penis bumps.

2) B. Fordyce spots are NOT malignant but are instead benign. They do not occur due to any illness nor do they cause any medical or health problems.

3) True. They are typically visible on the balls at any time, but much less likely to be seen on the member when it is in its resting state.

4) Pearly penis papules, or PPP.

5) False. A lymphocele is a hard bump that usually appears on the shaft of the member near the head, caused by a lymph channel getting blocked. It is a temporary occurrence caused by the manhood receiving friction from a tightened grip or other body part, and can definitely be caused by self-stimulation.

6) False. Penis warts, which are bumps that can vary in their size and often have a cauliflower-like appearance, are not a cancer. However, they are caused by HPV (the human papillomavirus), a social disease which affects about 79 million Americans. HPV also is not a cancer, but it can bring about changes in the body which may then cause cancer, including penis cancer, anal cancer and a cancer that affects the throat and tongue. Many people who get HPV suffer no problems, and so they may not be aware they have been infected. Penis warts, however, are a sign of infection, and they can alert a doctor to monitor an infected person to catch any signs of cancer in its early stages. (And again, not every person with HPV or penis warts gets cancer.)

As this quiz indicates, penis bumps are not always a signal that there is a penis health problem. But it always helps to maintain maximum penis health just in case, so guys should daily apply a top notch penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). Keeping member skin healthy can be beneficial, so the ideal crème should include both a high-end emollient (such as shea butter) and a natural hydrator (like vitamin E). The crème should also include L-carnitine, especially among men whose manhood engages in a lot of friction-based activity which can diminish valuable sensitivity. L-carnitine helps to protect the member from loss of sensation due to rough handling.

Worryingly, there is a lot of misinformation about back ache out there. How many times have you been led to believe that exercise can hurt a bad back? Or that bed rest is the best cure for back ache?

Myths about spine pain are almost as prevalent as the pain itself. And it’s crucial to get the facts.

Gaining a decent level of knowledge about your back health will allow you to work more productively with your healthcare team. So here are four important things you should know about back pain:

1: Gentle stretches before going to bed can help ease back issues in the morning

If you get up in the morning feeling like your spine needs a gallon of oil just to straighten up, start doing some gentle back stretches before falling asleep. An effective stretching exercise is to lie on your back and bring your knees to your chest. Sitting on a chair and pulling your knees up to your chest can also be beneficial. If stiffness or pain persists, contact a healthcare professional.

2: Other problems can cause back pain

Most types of back problems are caused by muscle strain or mechanical issues, but there are other more serious causes, such as infection or arthritis, which you should also be aware of. Never assume that your back pain is just “one of those things”; a chiropractor or healthcare professional should always evaluate the cause of your symptoms through conducting a physical exam and reviewing your medical history. Back pain is common, but it is certainly not normal. Don’t ignore it.

3: You should wait as long as you can before undergoing back surgery

Most medical professionals advise patients to wait as long as they can before undergoing spine surgery. This is usually because back surgery only helps to relieve some, but not all, causes of back ache. With proper care and attention, most back problems have the ability to improve without the need for invasive measures.

4: You can reduce chronic back problems by improving your overall health

This is probably the most important thing you can know about back and spine pain. Just like any other medical condition, chronic back pain can be improved when your overall health is better.

Stopping smoking, getting enough quality sleep, reducing stress and getting regular exercise are all effective ways to boost your health and improve the condition of your spine. A reputable chiropractor will be able to discuss with you the best options for your condition.

When it comes to your back health, knowledge really is power!
