Are you shopping for a Bowflex Revolution Home Gym? I was fascinated by those fancy Bowflex infomercials and decided to buy one. I’m usually not an impulsive buyer but I took the challenge since they offer a 6-week money back guarantee if you’re not 100% satisfied. One of the important decisions I had to make was which model to get.

Bowflex has 3 different flavors of the Revolution Home Gym. Below, I’ve outlined the most prominent differences to help you in your shopping decisions.

But First, What Is The Bowflex Revolution? The Bowflex Revolution is their flagship line-up of home gyms. Unlike their power rod units, the Revolution uses Spiraflex technology. Spira what? Spiraflex is a patented technology that uses elastic wrapped around a coil to create controlled tension. The result is increased muscle isolation, control, and faster development. I would best compare it to a high quality cable machine. Although the Power Rods work quite well (found in earlier models), they do not offer the versatility and intensity of the Revolution gyms.

When you perform an exercise on the Revolution, the cables fight with you the whole time, providing constant tension from the start to finish. The result is an awesome pump as your muscles are completely blasted into total failure! It’s similar to the feel you get with weights but in same ways better. With free weights, the resistance tapers off towards the top of the contraction. Not so with the Revolution. The resistance remains consistent, which produces better and more intense workouts. Don’t worry, the Revolution is gonna kick your butt and give you a refreshing super charged workout that will leave your body pumped and feeling great! It did for me.

So, Let’s Compare The 3 Different Revolution Home Gyms:

Bowflex Revolution FT: This is the entry level Revolution. It packs 90 exercises, 400 variations, and plenty of versatility. It includes a leg press plate, 5-position foot harness, squat harness, and a training DVD. If you can live without a lat tower attachment (only available on the XP and flagship model), you can save yourself up to $1,000. This makes it the best deal out of the three. The FT is perfect if you want a more compact home gym but with all the great features, results, and versatility of the Revolution series. It packs 200 lbs of resistance, which can be upgraded to 280 lbs, making it challenging for most athletes.

Bowflew Revolution XP: Sold only factory-direct, the Revolution XP features the same number of great exercises as the FT but with the benefit of the lat tower. For me personally, the price difference doesn’t really justify the need for the lat tower but I’m sure some will disagree. The XP is compact, versatile and like all the Revolutions, whisper quiet during operation. It offers 200 lbs of resistance (upgradeable to 280 lbs).

Bowflex Revolution: It’s funny how the flagship name is the same as the product line up. This can be confusing. Anyways, the Revolution is bigger and more versatile than either the XP or FT. It features 100 exercises, 400 variations, a lat tower, and all the other benefits of the other two. This would be the one to get if you must have the greatest amount of workout options. Athletes and serious weightlifters will benefit the most.

This guy comes with 220 lbs of resistance, which can be upgraded, to a big 300 lbs for upper body ad 600 lbs for lower body workouts. No wonder this is the flagship! Certainly, this model is the most expensive so that is something to take into consideration.

Which Is My Favorite? It depends on your needs but for me, my number one pick has been the FT. It gives me everything I need at a reasonable price and a more space friendly size. If you need to do lat pull downs, then go for the XP. If you can afford it and want the ultimate workout, then the Revolution is the one. Which ever one you get, it will be impossible not to build a great body! And with the 6-week money back guarantee from Bowflex, you have nothing to lose.

It is rightly said that necessity is the mother of invention. This applies to health insurance also. Deteriorating lifestyle patterns and the rising cost of health care in India has paved way for health insurance services. This need has further aggravated by the fact that unlike the West, the social security systems are non-existent in India. The governments have made all the provisions to extract tax from the citizens at all possible points but when it comes to health care and social security, it has not done anything at all.

Thus, it is the responsibility of the citizen to secure himself. But it is not that smooth to get the right health insurance policy. There are over two dozen general insurance companies which are offering different types of health insurance plans in India. Many times, people end up buying health insurance plans which are not relevant for them and which do not help them during the time of need.

Therefore, it bears crucial significance that you understand the nuances of health insurance plans and then only make a decision. Here is a quick list for you.

What all do health insurance plans cover?

Health insurance plans are primarily meant to provide you coverage against hospitalization and critical diseases. Most plans cover this. But, there are many plans, which do not cover certain types of health ailments. For instance, you can find several mediclaim plans which do not cover blood pressure and diabetes related issues.

The scope of coverage can be different too. For instance, not every plan covers post-hospitalization expenses. In some the coverage period can be as large as 45 days and in some the period could be as little as one week.

It is your responsibility to check on these matters. If you are relying on the insurance agent who is pursuing you, it can cost you dear at later dates. Agents are interested in making sales and commission. They may show their concern and tend to offer you the best plans, but they reality can be very different. So, just take care of these aspects.

The development of health insurance industry in India has motivated insurance companies to introduce comprehensive plans. A wide range of riders are also available at your disposal. Thus, if you buy a standard policy, you can add on riders which can provide you cover against many other risks such as permanent disability benefit, diabetes coverage, etc.

Do they cover pre-existing conditions?

Most mediclaim plans in India do not cover pre-existing conditions unless specified. Do not assume on this matter. If you are looking for coverage against a pre-existing medical condition, then clarify it at the very first instance. You can compare health insurance plans online and consult with customer care center through online chat option or telephonic call.

There are plans which cover pre-existing ailments at certain conditions. Generally, there is a pre-specified period under which pre-existing conditions are covered. The cost of such plans is naturally higher than the standard ones.

Can multiple family members be covered under one plan?

Yes, it is possible. You can simply opt for a family floater plan and get your family members covered under a single plan. There are myriad benefits of these plans. The premium is a bit higher but quite less if you go for different health insurance plans for various family members. The collective cost for various plans is much higher.

Family floater plans, at the other end, are cost effective. The most frequently asked question about family floater plans is what happens if one member consumes the coverage limit and another member falls ill. There are solutions to these conditions.

You can top-up coverage limit during the policy period. Of course, you need to pay some additional premium to get the extended coverage.

Can you switch from one health insurance plan to another?

Portability is not limited to the telecom sector only. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has made portability possible in the health insurance sector.

If, due to any reason whatsoever, you wish to change your health insurance service company, you can file an application for the switch. Health insurance is offered by general insurance …

It seems as if the health of America is failing. One million Americans will die of circulatory disease this year. Six hundred thousand lives will be cut short by cancer as well. How did we get in such a mess? I'm not sure. But there is a way out that is starting to generate a real buzz! Since CNN and the gang won't talk about it I decided to write is article.

Dear readers, I want to introduce you to the most nutrient dense food on the earth; wolfberries, or more specifically Lycium Barbarum.

The western scientific community have verified what Chinese and Tibetan health practitioners have known for thousands of years. Wolfberries are the healthiest known food on our planet.

In this report I will be talking specifically about wolfberries. In my research on the subject I found that not all wolfberries are created equal. The three most potent berries in the wolfberry family are Tibetan Goji berries, Chinese Xinjiang wolfberries and Chinese Ningxia wolfberries which all belong to the Lycium genus.

Wolfberries, a national treasure in China, have been used in traditional Chinese folk medicine for over 5,000 years. Ancient Chinese medical texts celebrated wolfberries for their wide range of health benefits including strengthening the 'chi "or life force of the body. The people who consumed this fruit apparently lived free of common diseases like arthritis, cancer and diabetes. has reached over 100 years!

In 1988, the Beijing Nutrition Research Institute conducted detailed chemical analysis and nutritional composition studies of the dried wolfberry fruit. Hold on to your socks, this is what they discovered. In addition to being packed with vitamins B1 and B6 (which is needed by the body to convert food into energy), and vitamin E (which has never been found in fruit before), wolfberries contain more protein then whole wheat, 18 amino acids ( 8 of them essential for life), 21 trace minerals (including significant amounts of zinc, iron, copper, calcium, selenium, phosphorus and germanium; a very rare anti-cancer agent almost never found in food), more beta carotene than carrots, 500 times more vitamin C by weight than oranges, essential fatty acids (required for the production of hormones and smooth functioning of the brain and nervous system) and is the richest source of carotenoids (natural fat-soluble pigments that play a critical role in vitamin A activity in humans) of any food on the planet. That's not all.

Here is a short list of other health promoting compounds found in Lycium Barbarum:

Beta Sitosterol: An anti-inflammatory agent found to lower cholesterol, and used to treat sexual impotence and prostrate enlargement.

Zeaxanthin and Lutine: Valued for their role in protecting the eyes.

Betaine: Used by the liver to produce Choline which assists detoxification reactions in the liver. Betaine is known to protect DNA, enhance memory, promote muscle growth and protects us from fatty liver disease.

Cyperone: A sesquiterpene used in treatment of cervical cancer. It is also known to benefit heart and blood pressure problems as well as menstruation problems.

Solavetivone: A powerful anti-fungal and anti-bacterial agent.

Physalin: A natural compound that boosts the immune system. Found to be effective in treating leukaemia, hepatitis B and cancer.

A laboratory procedure was recently developed to measure the amount of antioxidants the foods we eat contain. The procedure known as ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) was developed by Dr. Guohua Cao at USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University, USA. ORAC is one of the most sensitive and reliable methods for measuring the ability of antioxidants to absorb free radicals. It is the only test to combine both time and degree of inhibition of free radicals.

According to Tufts University, the average person needs approximately 3,000 to 5,000 ORAC units per day to have a significant impact on plasma and tissue antioxidant capacity. Three servings of fruits and vegetables per day provide approximately 1200 ORAC units. This means the average person is short by up to 3800 ORAC units each day, depending on the fruits and vegetables they are choosing and their body's requirements. To make up the difference, experts recommend supplementing our diet with high ORAC foods to become and stay healthy and slow …
