Water boiled before drinking it is one of the recommended practice by health officers especially in the third world countries where their source of drinking water is not safe and sometimes the causes for some incidence of common illness for children.

Those living in the remote areas, in the farms and far flung barrios are the one victims of these infectious diseases of catching water-borne diseases because of drinking unsafe water.

To ward-off the impending occurrence of water-borne diseases, boiling your drinking water is the safest way. Study shows, that water boiled for three minutes kills bacteria, including disease-causing organisms and giardia cysts. However, boiling concentrates inorganic impurities such as nitrate and sulfates. Water that undergoes heating process also tastes flat because the carbon dioxide is removed.

In the most advanced countries, drinking water is safe and they’re already treated to meet International Safety Standard, not like in the poor countries that they’ve to dwell on making some innovation just to give safe drinking water to its populace.

And heating their water before drinking is only the best alternatives.

8 Advantages

1. Kills some bacteria, viruses, cysts and worms.

2. The simplest and easiest method of disinfecting to remove pathogens from the water.

3. Removes some microorganisms and some chemicals and other components that can be present in drinking water.

4. Effective in destroying several classes of waterborne pathogens like; bacterial spores, fungi, protozoan, and helminth ova.

5. No need for a skills training in boiling water as long as it is boiled at the right heating temperature to kill waterborne diseases.

6. It is safe as against the fresh tap water.

7. Drinking boiled water everyday increases your blood circulation.

8. Some studies suggests that by drinking hot water, removes some built deposits in our nervous system. These deposits are responsible for creating negative thoughts and emotions.

There are still lots to learn about the importance of boiling water for the safety of our body against some major diseases that caused illness to some people especially children and adults who are vulnerable by drinking unsafe water.

Most Indians have close encounters of the culinary kind with Fenugreek or methi seeds very early in life. These seeds are remarkably bitter and have a marvellous aroma when roasted or fried in a little oil.

How did we start using these seeds, bitter as they are?

Fenugreek down history lane

Apparently, in the 1st century AD, the Romans flavoured wine with fenugreek. The use of fenugreek /methi in India is probably older than history itself; the leaves and the seeds of the herb are well entrenched in Indian cuisines from all parts of the country.

In West Bengal, for instance, methi seeds are used as ‘paanch phoron,’ one of five spices that are used to temper dishes. In fact, the aroma of these little mustard-coloured cuboids makes them a popular choice for the tempering of dals and chutneys. Methi seeds are also used whole or powdered in sambar powder in South India, and pickles in all parts of India.

Modern miracle seed

Fenugreek seeds were always around in Indian kitchens and traditional medicine cabinets. But in recent times, there has been a steady stream of information about the health benefits of fenugreek seeds as many people have ‘adopted’ this seed and reaped health benefits.

The most popular way of consuming fenugreek seeds is to boil them in water. This softens the seeds and releases their nutrients. It also reduces their extreme bitterness so that they are easier to chew and swallow. This requires a little getting used, of course, but the benefits far outstrip the initial distaste.

Fenugreek in water

Soaking fenugreek in water is recommended because it has water soluble minerals and fibre.

There are two ways to make methi/fenugreek water:

Soak 2 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in 2 glasses, about 400ml, of water overnight.

Put 2 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in a flask at bedtime. Add 2 glasses of boiling water into the flask. Screw on the lid. Let the seeds soak the whole night. Drink the water first thing in the morning. Chew up the seeds and swallow.

The second method is convenient and healthier. Of course, the seeds are bitter, but you will get used to it. After all, coffee and tea are bitter too; yet we drink them with devotion!

Health benefits of drinking ‘fenugreek water’:

Very beneficial to people with diabetes: Fenugreek encourages the slower absorption of sugars and also stimulates insulin. Diabetics and people on the borderline of diabetes will reap many benefits in drinking warm fenugreek water. Fenugreek seeds can also be powdered and added to dishes like idlis and dosas.

Aids digestion: Fenugreek seeds have mucilage, and the soaking process makes them mucilaginous. They coat and soothe the stomach and intestines. This property also makes fenugreek seeds a good choice for helping patients with acid reflux.

The water soluble fibre in fenugreek helps to relieve constipation.

Because of their anti-inflammatory properties, fenugreek seeds and water have been successfully incorporated into diets to treat ulcerative colitis.

Advantageous to kidney health: Fenugreek water, especially when drunk warm, flushes out the toxins from the body. That is why it is recommended as your wake-up elixir. It helps the kidneys to function and also reduces the risk of kidney stones.

Good for clear skin: Beautiful skin is never just skin-deep! Since fenugreek water aids in digestion and the flushing of toxins, it’s great for shiny, healthful, blemish-free skin. This is the beauty secret of the savvy few. Try it and join the club.

Slimming with this ‘magic water’: Experts recommend two glasses of warm fenugreek water to prevent water retention in the body. So, no bloating! Fenugreek also suppresses the appetite. In fact, dieticians recommend drinking this magic potion at least twice a day.

Anti-inflammatory: Because of the anti-inflammatory properties of fenugreek, this decoction benefits sufferer from arthritis, chronic coughs, bronchitis, mouth ulcers, boils, etc.

Keeps your heart beating: This is the reason why chewing and swallowing the fenugreek seeds is recommended in addition to drinking the water. Fenugreek reduces the risk of cardio-vascular disease by controlling LDL cholesterol.

Fenugreek seeds are a woman’s good friend: Fenugreek contains diosgenin which helps decrease menstrual cramps and increase the flow of milk in lactating mothers.…

A swim spa is ideal for swimming but did you know that it is an ultimate training machine? Here are the top 4 ways to train and condition in a swim spa.

1. RESISTANCE TRAINING

The best upper and lower body workouts include resistance training. But there are only so many hours in a day and only so much time to spend in the gym. A home swim spa can make all the difference if you want to achieve a well-rounded training program. Just hop in the water any time of the day to accomplish your weight training goals with water power.

Swim spas with a powerful current can give you the same results as working out with weights – a lower current equals less weight or crank up the speed for intense resistance. The benefit of training in water is that it supports muscles during exercise and diminishes joint stress. That means using water instead of weights will keep you at peak performance levels without risking injury or putting excess pressure on your joints. A win-win all around. Plus, if you’re healing from an injury, you can still workout in water (with your doctor’s approval) and stay conditioned while you heal. That’s what elite athletes do to stay game-ready as they recover.

2. CORE EXERCISES

Everyone wants a toned mid-section but tight abs take work. Hard core ab exercises can be achieved by working out against a swim spa current. Look for a swim spa where the current spans the full width of the pool. Then hold onto the side, ramp up the water power and do crunches or pikes against the current. Another option is to use a medicine ball or kickboard for added resistance against the power of the water. With these exercises, you will target your core and round out your exercise and strength training regimen.

3. RUNNING

The advantage of running in the water is that you fire up the same muscles you would use on land, but the weightless quality of water eliminates gravity-induced pounding on joints. The intensity of running in the water increases exponentially the faster you go. In other words, the harder you work, the greater the resistance, and the better the results! You will achieve the same cardio workout as you would on land with better outcomes. Looking for the different ways to run in the water.

4. SWIMMING

Every week there seems to be another fitness craze. But one exercise that never goes out of style is swimming. Whether you are a recreational swimmer, elite athlete, or triathlon competitor, you can swim your way to peak performance levels. There are so many great benefits you get from swimming. It is a low impact exercise yet it builds endurance, muscle strength, cardiovascular fitness, and can help reduce stress. Some studies have shown that it can help lower blood pressure, bad cholesterol, and control blood sugar levels. Swimming in a swim spa adds extra benefits. You can program a customized swimming experience to suit individual preferences, monitor your progress, and swim whenever you like in the comfort of your own home.

Water workouts add a powerful dimension to any exercise plan. With these four simple training techniques, you’ll crush your fitness goals.

Now think about how much easier it would be if you owned your own swim spa. A home fitness pool can be installed outside, inside, in a basement, on a deck, or many other locations to create the perfect home gym. Once it’s up and running, you can exercise for as long as you’d like whenever you want.

Have you ever gone to your refrigerator, thirsty for a bottle of water, and discovered that you are completely out? What do you do? You certainly aren’t going to grab a glass and head for the kitchen sink. It would be awfully hard to drink tap water after getting used to the sparkling clean taste of bottled water! Short of running to the store to grab some of your favorite kind of bottled water, is there anything you can do to solve this problem?

While it won’t solve the problem this time, the smartest, healthiest, and most convenient solution to the problem of running out of bottled water is to find yourself a local bottled water delivery service. You’ll end up drinking more water than ever when you have your own rented bottled water cooler in your home.

Bottled water coolers are most commonly rented on a monthly basis from the bottled water company. You’ve probably seen coolers like this in a doctor’s office or a business office. The ones for home use are designed as such, and look very elegant and functional, whether they are located in a kitchen, mud room, or pantry. These coolers are usually made of aluminium, stainless steel, some plastic, or a combination of all three. The bottled water companies offer three choices of coolers, depending on your individual needs and wants.

The first, and lowest price cooler is a simple crock that sits atop a wooden stand made of oak. This crock can hold either three of five gallons of water, the usual sizes that the water comes in. It is ideal for people who desire their water to be room temperature, and is ideal for cooking as well as drinking.

The mid priced cooler is different. On this design, the three or five gallon water bottles sit atop a sleekly designed cooler/dispenser that usually has two separate faucets. One faucet will give you quick access to cold water, while the other faucet dispenses room temperature water. Some coolers have an adjustable thermostat so the cold water will always be a just the temperature you desire. There is a removable water reservoir to catch spills, and you can even find attractive covers that will hide the water bottle, if you so desire.

Usually, these companies have an Internet presence, so it is a simple matter to go online and get set up for home delivery. You can see photos of the coolers before you order, as well as the size of the water bottles. The Internet makes it very easy for you to make sure you are getting exactly what you wanted. You are also able to set up a time for delivery and installation, and arrange how you will pay on a month to month basis. Usually, you must pay a refundable bottle deposit on your initial order, but the entire package, cooler, water, and all, can be paid for online.

Depending on where you live, there are a host of companies that can delivered many different brands of bottled water, perhaps even the brand you have been purchasing. With some of these brands, you get a choice of purified water, artesian water, spring water, or distilled water. Any of these is a fine choice, and much better all around than tap water.

The water that will be delivered to your home has usually gone through a treatment called reverse osmosis, which separates the water molecules from the impurities in the water. Nothing is left behind in the water but hydrogen and oxygen in spring or municipal water, the two types that receive this treatment. The water then goes through filtration, sanitation, ozonation, and then bottled. The distilled water, which by the way is just about the purest water you can buy, goes through a process called vapor compression while undergoing distillation.

This means that the water is micron filtered, and then carbon filtered, softened, boiled once again until it vaporizes, then re-condensed one more time. The end result? Water that is so fresh and clean, so pure that it is approved and recommended for medical, dental, and clinical use. Doesn’t your family deserve the cleanest water, too? There is talked that …

Water is 71% of Earths surface, not much news to most of society these days. However, approximately 783 million people do not have access to clean water and about 2.5 percent of the 71% is fresh water. Around 2.5 billion people do not have access to adequate sanitation. This is causing six to eight million people to die annually from the consequences and water related diseases. While people in well-developed counties have everything they need to satisfy the necessities of their people, or so it would seem, 85% of the world population lives on the otherwise half of the planet, water is short in those locations more than anywhere else on Earth. People are dying everyday do to dehydration, caused by intensifying heats. In America 40% of the rivers and 46% of the lakes are polluted and are considered unhealthy for swimming, fishing, and aquatic life. Chin's cities had 80-90 percent of their water contaminated and polluted do to past events of natural disasters. The young tend to receive the worst effects of contaminated and polluted water sources, 760,000 children under the age of 5 die every year from Diarrheal diseases caused by dirty water.

There has been an infinite amount of ideas to solve water pollution, contamination, and sanitization. Organizations everywhere are popping up to take part in the efforts to clean and purify water. These organizations do not have the power or the availability to secure every individuals needs. People that can go out and fend for themselves should be self-sufficient. There are several devices out on the market to purify your water. For example, the Pump2Pure. This mechanism works just like a hand pump siphon, stick one end into the dirty water and it pumps out clean water from that source into whatever container you are storing your now purified water into.

Pump2Pure is exactly what its name is. It has a hand pump suction that will allow the water to flow from one end of the pump to be purified by a filtration replaceable cartridge that purifies 100 gallons of water. Then the filtered water will push its way through to the next end of the pump into the container you are storing your new purified water. This pump is a very effective way to receive large quantities of water throughout your days, weeks, or months. The Pump2pure takes tree minutes to cycle through one gallon of water. this is equivalent to pumping twenty gallons per hour. That may not seem like it's effective, and sounds like a cramp in the hand, this pump is meant to be used as a survivalist tool and is a huge key item if you as a survivalist would like to stay alive without catching a disease from a contaminated convenient water source.

With around thirty-three percent of the world dying because of contamination and pollution in water, having a side attachment such as the Pump2Pure is a well-deserved precaution to act on. 100 gallons of clean pure water can go a long way for one individual. Don't be afraid to share you water with your friends and family.
